December 05
Tuesdsay, Dec. 5, 2023

Hi everyone,

It’s Lisa Jardine calling from Leatherbarrow Primary with your Tuesday talk mail.

Report cards went home yesterday, and Parent/Teacher conferences are being held this Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm and Friday from 8:30-11:00am. All appointments must be scheduled. The link to schedule your conference is in the December newsletter which is posted on our school website.

Our students will be participating in our annual Wednesdays in December enrichment sessions this Wednesday and next Wednesday afternoons. Please ask your child what they learned in their Wednesdays in December session. We are very thankful to all who are coming into the school to share their time and talents with us.

On Thursday, all classes go skating at the rink. To be permitted to skate, students must have skates, a helmet, snow pants and thick mittens or gloves. Any adults who intend on being on the ice must also wear skates and a helmet. Thank you to all who have said that you can help with skating! It takes a village!

The Scholastic Book Fair is set up in our lobby, and teachers are their bringing classes down for viewing today and tomorrow. The book fair will be open for student purchases on Thursday during school hours. It will remain open during Parent/ Teacher conferences on Thursday evening and Friday morning. Any proceeds we make from the book fair are used towards classroom resources. We are looking for volunteers to work the book fair on Thursday evening. If you are available, please call the school.

School clothing and coffee orders have arrived! You may pick both up at the school during Parent/Teacher conferences. Thank you to our Home and School for having the coffee orders ready for pick up.

And finally, the Hampton Rotary Club is running their annual Sock Barrel Campaign. They are “going big” this year, and are asking local churches and schools to give as much support as possible. The Rotary has provided us with a barrel that will be in our lobby. If you are able, please send in a new pair of child or adult socks that can go in the barrel. Barrels will be picked up Dec. 21 or 22.

That’s it for today. If you have questions, please call us at school. Have a great day!
